What to expect before you buy
A window replacement project starts long before our team of professional installers shows up at your home. Our Infinity from Marvin replacement windows are custom-built to fit the unique openings in your home with the design and operation you choose. Because of the huge range in sizes, configurations, and design options, the only way for us to give homeowners an accurate price estimate is to have an in-home consultation
During this free consultation, our replacement window expert will work with you to address your concerns and help you find the best solution for your home. For some homeowners, this may mean we help to prioritize a large project into smaller, more budget-conscious parts while others leverage our expertise to help re-imagine the look and operation of the windows in their home. Once you’ve discussed your window replacement needs and goals, the window consultant will take some preliminary measurements and discuss specific finishes and window options to generate a quote.
Once you’ve decided to purchase and have completed the contract, we will send another window expert to your home to take a technical measurement. While the measurements taken during your initial consultation are accurate enough to provide a price quote, we want to make sure your new replacement windows fit into your home exactly to give you the smoothest experience and most efficient windows. From this measurement, we order your windows which often take 2–3 weeks to come into our shop.
We’ll work with you to schedule your replacement window installation date with plenty of notice. Typically we schedule our installations about 6-8 weeks in advance and work throughout the year, including during the winter.
What to expect pre-installation day
Depending on the size of your project and the number of windows you are having replaced, it’s likely your window installation will take two to five days. Our typical replacement window method allows us to use the existing window frame (pocket installation) and allows us to install 6 windows per installer per day on average. For jobs that require a more intensive, full-frame installation method, we typically plan for 3 windows per installer per day. When your job is scheduled, we will let you know how long we anticipate the installation will take.
Prior to our replacement window installers coming to your property, we ask that you remove as many obstacles as possible from the area immediately around the windows we will be replacing. We take careful measures to ensure that your property stays as clean as possible, but we highly recommend any fragile items be moved away from the replacement window sites for added caution and peace of mind.
What to expect on installation day
When your replacement window installation day arrives, our crew of professional window installers will arrive at your home and promptly get to work. They’ll take a look at the scope of your project and assess the best way to tackle the job. If there is a specific room or area you would like to have completed first, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
